Program director Raimo Silius has seen every national film offered to the Festival this millennium. All 2500 of them.
During the last few years more films have been made especially about immigrants.
– Finland is a multicultural country, and it shows in short films.
According to Silius, teaching filmmaking is very professional in Finland but there is too much of it.
Silius thinks that the future of Finnish film is promising. Silius does have one complaint, however.
– The young do not know the history well enough.
Silius quotes a French director, Eric Rohmer.
– In order for a film to have a future, its past must not die.
